Corneal Transplant| Education for underprivileged Children | Adequate nutrition for poor Kids | Vocational training for disabled | Rural Health Programme | Women empowerment
The Tej Kohli Foundation is determined to make a difference in the fight against poverty, disease and ignorance in India and around the world. In particular, it will focus its efforts in the areas of corneal transplant, the empowerment of women, rural health, and educational opportunities for underprivileged children, nutrition, and vocational training for the disabled.
Our goal is to strive for a world in which all people have hope and dignity. By focusing our efforts on individuals and families in the most vulnerable groups, and the sincere belief that they deserve the chance to improve their lives we will work hard to make a difference.
To this end, the Tej Kohli Foundation will work with like-minded organizations and Government agencies, in addition to working directly with communities and beneficiaries.
Our primary concerns are children, because we know they are the future of this world, and impoverished women, because they have the power to help entire families and whole communities rise above poverty into a life of dignity.
In all its activities, the Tej Kohli Foundation is guided by the belief that poverty, disease, ignorance, helplessness and powerlessness are entirely avoidable and can be eliminated by human intervention. We believe that all human beings have a right to sustainable livelihood and the right to acquire the necessary abilities to become productive members of societies. We believe that these basic human needs and rights can be met.
The Foundation has carefully chosen areas of action where it believes it will be able to meet needs and make a difference. Our aim in each of these activities is to ensure that the beneficiaries are empowered in such a way that they are ultimately able to manage their own lives by taking full advantage of the opportunities newly available to them.
